Yesterday was a hard day. Way too hot, allergies, and a lot of fatigue for pretty much everyone in the family. Of course, this affected the revision sessions.
In between helping where I could, cooking meals, and taking naps (Lovely nap!), I did many little revision sessions. I don’t think any of them were more than 30 minutes long.
However, I know from participating in National Novel Writing Month (50k in 30 days) that the small chunks of writing time can add up to a surprising amount of words. Revisions is the same way.
A few minutes here, a few minutes there. Taking all those opportunities. In the end it added up to 2429 revised words. I’m also starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with this difficult part of the revision.
The revised novel now stands at 70k. For me, this is a milestone. I’m barreling down towards the big climax and it’s great to see the story really coming alive with the small problems fixed. It feels really good, in a way that is hard to describe.
In other news, we just received the phone call we’ve been waiting for. Mother Hen goes in for her first radiation treatment tomorrow. It now starts. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in kind words, donations for her treatment, thoughts, prayers, emails, and even a poem! They have meant a great deal to her.
