Yes, seriously. I’m still alive. At least, I think I am.

A lot has been going on. For one, the MRI in January showed the tumor is growing back, and is now impacting the emotional and short-term memory areas of Mother Hen’s brain. Yes, that was a real blow. Doing so good, and then BAM! It was back, and growing in very bad places.

Add to that delays in getting the insurance situation figured out. I hate waiting for other people. That really messed us up with something we don’t have time for playing around. But, it is now figured out. The moment the insurance goes live in March, Mother Hen has appointments with oncologists and surgeons to see what they can do. Everyone keep their fingers, toes, and everything else, crossed!

Onto better news.

I’ve been working on the website. New color scheme, an update of the theme, added content, and other small stuff. I’m still tweaking, but I like it better.

Oh, and the Bibliography has been updated. There were quite a few items not on there! Tis fixed now. 😀

More stories are coming down the pipeline. Here in a few days I’ll announce a big one. Writing is keeping me sane right now.

Hey, 2014! You were supposed to be better than 2013! Shape up, you!

Changes In Progress

This is a quick update to let everyone know that I’m still alive and kicking. I have a few new releases, but I’ll officially announce them here once I get something else out of the way…

Which is the website itself. I haven’t been completely happy with it for a while, but I think I finally know what I want to do with it. The issue is figuring out how to make it happen. So, please forgive the dust as I work on it. Things might look a little odd once in a while as I try things out.

Meanwhile, enjoy a free download of “Night of the Aurora” ebook until January 1st, 2013. At that point the price will go back to normal. Happy reading!

Blog Up And Running Again

Most of yesterday was not spent on outlining, writing, or revising. Or even publishing.

It was spent cleaning up the site after another Russian Mob hack inserting redirects into every page. Seriously, will someone go out and kill these people? They are nothing but vermin using up oxygen on this planet.

It will take time for the Google-alerts to disappear, but that should happen in the next few days. In the meantime, it’s time to turn the focus on more productive things. Like starting the novel I should have written in June. The writing starts tomorrow (July 1st) for the July Nano. Maybe joining in with a Nano will help the words start to flow.

I hope everyone else had a better month of writing in June than I did! Now I’m going to see if I can figure out what settings I used for the progress bars. 😀

Website Update and Story Status

Yes, I missed posting last night, but I have an excuse and it’s medical. No further details than that other than I’m doing fine.

But I did write yesterday! So, here is an update for both yesterday and today, as well as a full overview of where I sit for the month:

Day 22 Wordcount: 1534 (Cowboys and Robots, Short Story #8)

Day 23 Wordcount: 3307 (Cowboys and Robots, Short Story #8)

And the story is finished!

So, here is where we stand for the month of May…

#1 – Glint of a Ring – Finished at 7127 words
#2 – Dark Circus – Finished at 9474 words.
#3 – Glint of an Artifact – Finished at 9000 words.
#4 – In the Cauldron – Finished at 5794 words
#5 – The Flying Dutchman of the Spacelanes – Finished at 6118 words.
#6 – Glint of a Ruin – Finished at 9181 words.
#7 – The Ultimate Game – Finished at 3238 words.
#8 – Cowboys and Robots – Finished at 4841 words

It’s official. I’m caught up! Now to figure out what to write next.

In other news, the appearance of the blog has been bothering me. I was really tired tonight, too much to do even more writing (3307 is fantastic for a day I’ve felt like a zombie). So, I attacked the blog. Did a backup of the site and the database, and then updated the theme.

I like having a dedicated place for the covers. The only problem I’ve found is that the theme is doing something strange with the commas. In Safari there are no spaces after them. I’ll have to troubleshoot that later.

When I get a chance an update to the bibliography will be next!

The challenge in question is the Forward Motion May “Story-A- Day” challenge. See my previous post about the rules. The goal is to achieve the 10 short story level.

Blog Subscriptions Are Back!

A frequent visitor to the blog let me know something important. The subscriptions either weren’t working, or were missing.

Well, they were ONCE there, but they sure weren’t work/existing when I tried to hunt them down myself! so, last night while I should have been writing on my NaNoWriMo book I took the time to try and figure it out.

It turned out to be a plug-in problem and a corruption of settings. Nice, two things at once.

The positive part of all this is that I did find the problems and I believe I fixed them. The new blog subscription options, including subscription by email, is now available on both the main page and on each of the blog post pages.

If anyone finds any problems, please let me know. 🙂

Now, back to writing!
