“For our customers who are avid readers of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, we’re happy to introduce 47North, the latest imprint from Amazon Publishing. 47North offers a wide array of new novels and cult favorites, from urban fantasies to space operas, alternate histories to gothic and supernatural horror.”

Smashwords New Distribution Channel

I thought I posted about this, but a look through the archive shows I didn’t. Oops!

Smashwords today announced a distribution agreement with Baker & Taylor, one of the world’s largest distributors of physical and digital books.

The agreement will expand distribution for nearly 100,000 Smashwords books to new devices and markets.

There are two [...]

“Coffee Cup Dreams” Has A New Cover!

2012 is a year of many changes. Not only am I writing and revising more than ever, I’m also looking back on what I did in 2011 to see if I can make it better. Specifically the stories already out there.

I’m in the slow and detailed process of getting several books ready for print. [...]

Expanded Distribution Through Apple

Added [...]

Author Insecurities and the Issue of Pricing

This week was going to be a post about Nano prep, but, well…

This week there were many good blog posts by other authors I followed. Part of the fun is to read the comments. And some of the comments had me rolling my eyes to the point it could have been physically damaging. What [...]

The Myth of the Author Online Presence

A little bit of a rant here about the advice to authors, especially Indie authors, that have been making the rounds online since, well, forever. To the point of feeling as if I’ll get beat over the head if I don’t pay attention and follow it.

It’s a subject I would love for Dean Wesley [...]

Distribution Channel: Smashwords Pt 2

And now we continue analyzing the objections to Smashwords. The main complaints?

I sell way more at Amazon with Kindle! Quarterly payments are too slow. Slow sales (for most) Meatgrinder woes! Premium Distribution is too hard to get into! Premium Distribution sales numbers come in too slow.

The first three we went over last week. Now [...]

Distribution Channel: Smashwords Pt 1

I promised a post about Smashwords and here it is! A word of warning: this turned out to be a little long, but there’s a lot of information to cover. So much so that I had to split it up into two posts.

Smashwords. The ebook etailer and distributor that either has authors/publishers smiling or [...]
