2012 is a year of many changes. Not only am I writing and revising more than ever, I’m also looking back on what I did in 2011 to see if I can make it better. Specifically the stories already out there. I’m in the slow and detailed process of getting several books ready for print. [...] On Tuesday October 4th, Smashwords announced that the Apple iBookstore was expanding Smashwords ebook distribution into 26 more countries. This is very exciting news, as these markets are largely untouched when it comes to the ebook revolution. As time goes on they could start to make up a larger and larger percentage of sales. Added [...] This week was going to be a post about Nano prep, but, well… This week there were many good blog posts by other authors I followed. Part of the fun is to read the comments. And some of the comments had me rolling my eyes to the point it could have been physically damaging. What [...] A little bit of a rant here about the advice to authors, especially Indie authors, that have been making the rounds online since, well, forever. To the point of feeling as if I’ll get beat over the head if I don’t pay attention and follow it. It’s a subject I would love for Dean Wesley [...] And now we continue analyzing the objections to Smashwords. The main complaints? I sell way more at Amazon with Kindle! Quarterly payments are too slow. Slow sales (for most) Meatgrinder woes! Premium Distribution is too hard to get into! Premium Distribution sales numbers come in too slow. This is a place for a simple bio, an avatar icon, social media feeds (such as for blogs and twitter), and a full listing of books by that author. Started out with “Spires” (a short story) February 13, and “Glint of a Suncatcher” (a novelette) on the 26th. They were available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords right from the start.
