I was researching something for a science fiction story today and came across a page regarding the effect electormagnetism has on human beings. Not that I'm a subscriber to blaming things on technology, but maybe something about your living conditions is off-setting your body chemistry. It never hurts to ask questions.

Hugs. I sometimes get bouts of exhaustion, but not as bad as yours seem to be. Usually my own blessed fault, too -- sleep, diet, exercise -- the usual suspects. I can fool myself for about three weeks before my body strikes back. I also found a balanced fish oil / omega acids worked for a while, so well I suspect I wad deficient.

From what I've heard, publishers do very little promotion of low-level authors these days. They get you onto the lists the brick and morter stores and libraries buy from, better online presence, and readers trust them more than, "The author and his buddies say it's an awesome book."

I follow Mur Lafferty's podcast. Several of her guests did well with pod-casting the book first, then self-publishing. It's a limited window, though, as the competition for the available podiobook audience increases. On the other hand, the audience is going up as well, and it's no longer just the geeks.

I hope things get better for you!

Check out Laura Hillenbrand the author of Seabiscuit: An American Legend. It took her years to write the book because of her problem with exhaustion can't remember the name of ailment at this moment but it was pretty amazing that she finished the book. But She even did a few interviews on radio.
